Quarantine Policy

Purchasing & Availability

Protocol-complete listings — or clearly datedFish may be listed before completing our full 6–8 week protocol, with an estimated quarantine completion date shown in the listing. That date is our best current projection and can change based on how the fish progresses. A fish is never shipped until it has completed every stage of the protocol, no exceptions.

Live quarantine logsEach listing includes a running quarantine log with dated medication doses, behavioral notes, and microscopy results. You'll receive a progress report card at the tank transfer stage and again when your fish is ready to ship.

Shipping

Next Day Air, shipped weekly. We ship once a week via Next Day Air. Once your fish completes the protocol, we'll reach out to confirm and get it out on the next available ship date. Every box is packed with sufficient oxygen and appropriate insulation for current temperature conditions.

Health Guarantee

7-day health guarantee Every fish leaves our facility in documented good health. We back that with a 7-day health guarantee, provided our enclosed acclimation instructions are followed. 


Here's whats covered:

  • Fish arrives dead on arrival (must be documented within 1 hour of delivery)
  • Disease symptoms within 7 days, in a disease-free system, when acclimation instructions were followed
  • Fish significantly misrepresented in the listing

Whats not covered:

  • Losses from failure to follow enclosed acclimation instructions
  • Health issues when introduced to a system with active disease
  • Losses caused by aggression from tankmates
  • Delays caused by recipient being unavailable at delivery

How to file a claim

  • Photograph the fish in the sealed bag immediately upon arrival
  • Message us within 2 hours of delivery with photos and your order number. Email ashwin@coralmechanics.com
  • For health claims within 7 days, send a short video showing the symptoms
  • We'll review and respond within 24 hours with a resolution

Our quarantine protocol is built on peer-reviewed treatment methodologies and practitioner resources including Fish Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment, Clinical Guide to Fish Medicine, Humble Fish, Fishotel, and Marine Collectors. Every dosage, duration, and threshold we use is evidence-based and fully documented in each listing's quarantine log.
